Brief:

  • To design a new dwelling to suit the client’s lifestyle
  • To make use of the generous site parameters

Bio: The private clients approached Peter Dickinson Architects with the wish to demolish a recently purchased detached dwelling, on a generous site, with a new modern and unique dwelling, which would better respond to their current lifestyle and living requirements.

The new dwelling was directed by Peter Dickinson Architects, and was comprised of modern materials and architectural details, on a traditional form, allowing the building to sit sympathetically into the site and onto the street scene. The design was centred around the lifestyle of the client, which Peter Dickinson Architects discussed with them to determine the best use of space and the arrangement of accommodation with the dwelling. Peter Dickinson Architects assisted in the preparation of the brief and design, through to the production of tender documentation and worked closely with the contractor on site.

Peter Dickinson Architects have worked closely with the client to determine all aspects of the design, including a bespoke helical staircase, floor tiling, external materials and internal finishes.
